PRACTICE / ONE WEEK
A seven-day listening practice
Build language confidence by collecting real moments, not by pretending one week can make you fluent or local.
THE SHORT VERSION
- Choose one low-stakes listening task each day and write down the phrase that repeated.
- Check meaning and tone with a reliable speaker or tool before making a phrase part of your routine.
- Measure success by repair and attention, not by performing an identity you do not claim.
Day one: collect the sounds
Listen for greetings, place names and numbers you encounter at the hotel or station. Save the written form and the situation; do not force yourself to reproduce every sound immediately.
Days two to four: repeat one situation
Choose a breakfast order, a shop question or a direction request and try it again. Repetition makes a useful phrase visible while keeping the stakes ordinary.
Days five and six: repair
Practice asking for a repeat, showing a written address or confirming a number. Repair phrases keep a conversation moving when a perfect sentence is unavailable.
Day seven: review the relationship
Keep what helped, retire what felt performative and note what still needs a speaker's correction. Language learning is a way to pay better attention, not evidence that you have become someone else.
